An Ink Cartridges comes in a plastic box filled with
the liquid ink that is used in an inkjet printer. Generally, printers
are of two types- the monochrome and multi-color cartridges. The
latter one has separators inside it to separate different colors into
particular units.
The
cartridge that is inserted into the printer is fastened up by a
holder that is attached to a bar. The cartridge will start printing
as soon as the printer is commanded by the computer. Once it starts
printing, the ink from the unit will touch the printing surface and
creates a bond with the paper surface. Indeed, it produces a series
of tiny droplets of ink that form the text and image that you want to
print.
The printer
and its essential components including the ink cartridges are very delicate, so the machines
and their accessories do not come at cheaper price. Therefore, it is
recommended for users to ensure that they used properly and
well-maintained.
If you do a
lot of printing on regular basis, you should always keep a spare
black as well as multi-color cartridge in stock. Check your printer
from time to time and it shouldn’t be left working until its ink is
completely used up. Doing this you will run into a great loss and
your printer will also be hampered. The cartridges in store must be
kept sealed in their respective packages until it’s time to use
them. Unsealed package may come in contact with dirt, fiber, hair and
other debris and can clog the unit. It can also end up drying faster
when out of the packaging. All these factors can damage your
cartridge and keep it from functioning properly.
Remember,
direct light from sun and heat can also ruin your printer as well as
the cartridge. Direct exposure can dry out the ink and also damage
the other parts of the printer. However, if the ink dries out
accidentally you can moist the cartridge edge with a damp cotton bud
to make easy flowing out of ink. Spare cartridges are best kept in
drawers and at room temperature.
What is most
important is; remember to use your printer at least once a week.
Keeping your machine unused for longer period of time can clog up the
cartridge and also help the printer acquire dust and dirt.
